Fatphobia Love, Off the Record follows the story of Wyn, a freshman staffer on her university’s newspaper, who jumps at the chance when a rare reporter spot opens up. But fellow freshman staffer Three is also vying for the position which starts a game of sabotage and mind games. As Wyn’s search for the perfect story leads her to an anonymous, campus-wide dating app, she hits it off with a mystery man she thinks might be the cute RA from her dorm. But Wyn is all too familiar with being rejected because of her weight, and she’s hesitant to reveal her identity. When Three breaks a story that’s closer to home than he or Wyn expects, the two must put aside their differences to expose the truth—and face their real feelings for each other, which threaten everything Wyn has built with her anonymous match.
I loved this book! I binged it in one day and enjoyed every minute of it. The characters were engaging and grabbed my attention right away. They all had intricately planned out relationships and personalities, they felt as if they were real people. Wyn was a favourite of mine because of how relatable she was. I loved her determination and admired her dedication to achieving her goals. Her journey towards finding her voice and learning self-love was inspiring. Also, her relationship with Three was so much fun to read about! If you love the rivals-to-lovers trope with banter you need to pick up this book! The writing style flowed nicely and made it hard to put down! The plot was engaging and had me on the edge of my seat, excited for what would happen next. I can’t wait to read more of Samantha’s work in the future. This is definitely one of my favourite books I’ve read in 2024. I gave this book 4.5/5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨. That's all for my review of Love, Off the Record by Samantha Markum! I hope you enjoyed it! What is one book you could talk about forever? Let me know in the comments below!
