As part of this tour I was given a copy of this book. Synopsis I did my part, BFF. Now it's your turn. Seventeen-year-old film noir fan Neve Lanier is a girl who just wants to be seen, but doesn't really fit in anywhere. When Neve is betrayed by her best friend, Yasmin, at the end of the school year, she heads off to a girl's empowerment camp feeling like no one will ever love her again. So when she grabs the attention of the beautiful, charismatic Diane, she falls right under her spell, and may accidentally promise to murder Diane's predatory step-brother Javier, in exchange for Diane murdering Yasmin. But that was just a joke... right? Wrong. When Yasmin turns up dead, Diane comes calling, attempting to blackmail Neve into murdering Javier. Stalling for time, Neve pretends to go along with Diane's plan until she can find a way out that doesn't involve homicide. But as she gets to know Javier - and falls for him - she realizes that everything Diane told her is a lie. Even worse, she discovers that Yasmin probably wasn't Diane's first victim. And unless Neve can stop her, she won't be the last. It's Tuesday bookworms! And today I'm sharing with you all my review of Crumbs by Danie Stirling. Thank you to HarperCollins Canada for sending me an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. This book comes out July 19th! content warnings
Death of parents (mentioned), an accident resulting in death (like a car accident) In a world full of magic, Ray, a girl with the power to see the present, is struggling with her gift. But something that always brings her comfort is visiting a magical bakery that has items with special powers. From tea that helps you focus, to muffins that give you confidence, there's something for everyone. There she meets Laurie, an aspiring musician, and the two of them quickly become close. But as both of them chase very different dreams will their relationship be able to stand the test of time?
I originally started reading this series on Webtoon and I really enjoyed it so I couldn't wait to read my ARC copy. Something I love the most about this graphic novel is the artwork! The illustrations are beautiful and very eye catching. I spent time admiring not only the characters, but the settings and background as well. You could tell that each element was done with a lot of care. Plus the colours! So pretty! The plot is mainly focused on the romance, and I thought Ray and Laurie were really cute together! Their relationship was believable and it felt realistic in that they had things they needed to work on. I do wish though that we could've explored the magic system a bit more, especially the bakery since that was one of my favourite aspects of the world. Something I also enjoyed was the main message of putting yourself first. We see Ray grow a lot in terms of her relationships with her family and friends which was great to see. Overall I had a great time reading Crumbs! I gave this book 4/5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. That's a wrap on my review of Crumbs by Danie Stirling! I hope you enjoyed it! What's your favourite dessert?
