Grief, death, forced confinement Finch House follows Micah, an 11 year old girl who has no interest in moving out of her grandfather’s house. Living with her Poppop is a lot of fun, especially when they find treasures in the trash of nearby rich neighbourhoods. Hoping to avoid packing, Micah rids her bike up to Finch House, an old house that Poppop says is off-limits. Except when she arrives, she finds the house has been fixed up and a boy named Theo is playing in the front yard. But after Poppop brings her home he’s nowhere to be found the next day. And when Theo invites her inside she realizes she can’t leave, and the house is alive. Will Micah be able to convince this house to let her go? Or will she forced to stay forever?
This was a spooky middle grade read! Finch House has a great haunting atmosphere. The suspense gradually builds up, which keeps you on the edge of your seat. I also enjoyed learning more about the characters, especially Micah. Throughout the course of the book, we see Micah grow into her confidence. We also got some background on the other kids stuck at the house from the past. Speaking of the past, I liked the development of the history and the origins of Finch House. However, I was a bit confused with the magic system and would have liked more explanation about how the house worked. The ending left on a bit of a cliffhanger which added even more to the creepy undertones of the book. I recommend this to fans of Coraline! I gave this book 4/5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. That's all for my review of Finch House by Ciera Burch! I hope you enjoyed it. What's your favourite spooky movie? Let me know in the comments below!

Happy Monday bookworms! Welcome to my review of In the Form of a Question by Amy Schneider! Thank you to Simon and Schuster Canada for sending me an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. This book is currently available in stores. content Warnings
Homophobia, transphobia As the most successful woman to ever compete on Jeopardy! this book follows the years leading up to her amazing run on the show and the joy of being herself on national television. She has blazed a trail for openly queer and transgender people around the world and is sharing her experience in this book.
Amy is one of my favourite Jeopardy! players, so I was very interested in reading her memoir. We follow not only Amy's time on Jeopardy! but also her childhood and events leading up to her run on the show. I enjoyed learning more about Amy's interests and getting to know her as a person in addition to being a great contestant. The writing style felt conversational and as though Amy was directly speaking to the reader instead of being a more formal memoir. This made it a quick read that I could easily pick up at any time. However, I found that the large amount of footnotes sometimes took away from my reading experience because I was constantly checking them. In terms of the content, I loved Amy's overall message of being true to who you are and allowing yourself to make mistakes along the way. All in all, it was a great read! I gave this book 4/5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. That's a wrap on my review of In the Form of A Question by Amy Schneider! I hope you enjoyed it. Do you watch Jeopardy! Or any other trivia shows?
