It's Wednesday bookworms! And I've got another review to share with you all! Today I'll be discussing Cooper B. and the Scavenger Hunt by Michael Shane Leighton. I'd like to thank the author for sending me a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Cooper B. has spent his whole life moving from orphanage to orphanage. That is, until he meets his best friends Aria and Miles, and the trio are whisked off to a strange new world. While attending a new magical boarding school, Cooper B will learn more about his past, but this new knowledge might put him in grave danger. When I first picked this book up I was really excited to read about the magical boarding school. I enjoyed reading about our main character, Cooper B. and his friends and found the setting to be interesting. Unfortunately I found many aspects of the story to be very similar to a very popular magical school series. I saw these similarities in characters and plot points and it took away from my general enjoyment of the story. That said, it did have some unique features that I had fun reading about, like the scavenger hunt! I had enjoyed figuring out the clues with the characters and wish that it was a more prominent part of the book. I also would have liked to learn more about the rules of the magic system and the world in general, which I think will be explored in future books. Overall it was a cute story, but unfortunately it just wasn't for me. I gave this book 2/5 Stars ⭐️⭐️. That's a wrap on my review of Cooper B. and the Scavenger Hunt! I hope you enjoyed it!
