Hi bookworms and welcome to my review of City of the Dead by James Ponti. Thank you to Simon and Schuster for sending me a copy in exchange for an honest review. This book is currently available in stores!
The 4th book of the City Spies series follows Kat, who loves logic and order and is a master of patterns and puzzles. When London is hit by a series of cyberattacks while the spies are testing the security of the British Museum, Kat’s skills make her ideal for the job. Secret messages and clues lead the team to Egypt and the City of the Dead to understand who is behind these attacks and why. Kat soon realizes there’s more to this mystery than meets the eye and it’ll take everyone’s help to solve it. I loved getting to learn more about Kat in City of the Dead! The various puzzles and intricacies of this mission gave her a real chance to shine. The plot was exciting and full of action and plot twists that I couldn't see coming. Even though there is a large cast of characters, they each are so unique and exciting to read about. The writing style adapts and changes to match the personality of each of the City Spies and keeps you glued to the page. I really enjoyed learning more about Mother and his family, along with how Kat came into the City Spies. As this series continues, I definitely think that readers of all ages could enjoy it. With that exciting cliffhanger, I'm excited to read book 5 soon! I gave this book 4/5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. That's a wrap on my review of City of the Dead by James Ponti. I hope you enjoyed it!
