Grief, violence Spell Bound follows Edison who is hoping to land a job at a call centre for magical emergencies, run by the powerful sorceress Antonia Hex. Which might be difficult considering he doesn’t have any magic. To his surprise Antonia hires him and gives him a new name (Rook). All he has to do is balance hiding his illegal magic detection and contend with Sun, the annoyingly cute apprentice to Antonia’s rival colleague. But when the Magical Consortium has caught wind of the detection device they come after both Antonia and her rival, leaving Sun and Rook to work together to get their mentors back, or face losing their magic forever.
Wow this book blew me away! What I loved the most was the characters. My favourites were Rook and Sun, they each were so vibrant in their own ways. They grew as individuals and learned about self-love and how it feels like to have a place where they belong. Their mentors were also a lot of fun to read about. I couldn't get enough of the banter between Antonia and Fable as they bickered about magic and everything in general. Needless to say, each of the characters stood out and had their own time to shine. I would definitely want to be part of their found family group! The romance! Ugh so adorable. Sun and Rook are perfect for each other. F.T. Lukens did a fantastic job creating a slow burn romance while also giving us so many cute moments between the two to gush over. The romance felt very believable and gradually built up over time which I appreciated. I could read a whole book of Rook and Sun just being happy together with no other plot points whatsoever 😂. The plot was engaging and I just had to know what would happen next. The fantasy aspect was intriguing but was explained in a way that made it very easy to understand. I'd recommend this to fans of fantasy romance that are hesitant to read a book with an over complex magic system, I was able to pick up how the magic system worked very quickly. The action and adventure elements were also a lot of fun and kept me on the edge of my seat! All in all this book made me really happy! I'll be recommending this to everyone and I'm very excited to read F.T. Lukens' other books soon! An adorable whirlwind story filled with magic, romance, and found family, Spell Bound is a must read for all fantasy romance lovers! I gave this book 4.5/5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨. That's a wrap on my review of Spell Bound by F.T. Lukens! I hope you enjoyed it! What was the last book you read and what did you rate it? Let me know in the comments below!
