Hello bookworms! Today I'm sharing 5 of my most anticipated releases for April 2023. This month has some really exciting books coming out. Let's talk about some of them! Spell Bound by F.T. Lukens April 4th Spell Bound follows Edison who is hoping to land a job at a call centre for magical emergencies, run by the powerful sorceress Antonia Hex. Which might be difficult considering he doesn’t have any magic. To his surprise Antonia hires him and gives him a new name (Rook). All he has to do is balance hiding his illegal magic detection and contend with Sun, the annoyingly cute apprentice to Antonia’s rival colleague. But when the Magical Consortium has caught wind of the detection device they come after both Antonia and her rival, leaving Sun and Rook to work together to get their mentors back, or face losing their magic forever. I have been loving fantasy romance books and this one sounds perfect! I am so excited to dive into it once my exams are over. Silver in the Bone by Alexandra Bracken April 4th The author of the famous Darkest Minds trilogy is back and she's written a fantasy! This is a modern King Arthur retelling and I am so intrigued! Our main character joins the underground magic community of Boston, filled with sorceresses and Hollowers after her guardian disappears mysteriously. After all it's the only thing she can do to survive and protect her brother, even though she has no magic herself. But after 10 years a rumour starts to grow about a relic her guardian found and soon she's teaming up with her nemesis to track it down. This sounds like it has so many exciting elements: enemies to lovers, fantasy, mystery, and adventure! Queen Bee by Amalie Howard April 4th I have been reading more historical fiction books lately and this one definitely caught my eye! It's been compared to Bridgerton, and even though I haven't watched the show or read the books, I've heard so much about why people love them! After her best friend betrays her, Ela is determined to get her revenge. And that's what leads her to return to London 3 years later and disguise herself as a mysterious heiress. But when she gets there she's reunited with the only boy she's ever loved and her determination starts to waver. There's also been a couple of chess references in the synopsis and the cover so I'm interested in seeing how that element ties into everything! Not Here to Stay Friends by Kaitlyn Hill April 4th Are you a fan of friends to lovers? Me too! That's why I can't wait to read Not Here to Stay Friends, which is about a girl named Sloane who reunites with her childhood best friend Liam in LA. Except their plans to have an epic summer are ruined when Liam's dad ropes him into working on a teen reality dating show. Oh and did I mention that Sloane ends up being a last minute participant in the show? I am so excited for all the behind the scenes drama! That Self-Same Metal by Brittany N. Williams April 25th Another fantasy! And this one is about a craftswoman who makes blades for William Shakespeare’s acting company. I mean she controls metal! That sounds so cool! But not everything is peaceful, and there have been an increase in Fae attacks. Things get intense when she injures a powerful Fae and saves the son of a cruel Lord. I am ready for all the political intrigue! Those are my anticipated releases for April 2023 bookworms! I can't wait to dive into them! What April releases are on your radar? Are any of these books on your tbr? Let me know in the comments below!
