Happy Monday bookworms! Today I’m sharing 9 of my most anticipated releases for this month! There’s a wide range of genres from fantasy to historical fiction, and they all sound so interesting. I can’t choose which one to start with! There's still time to pre-order these books before they come out, plus some of them have exciting pre-order campaigns you do not want to miss out on. Let's dive in! Seven Faceless Saints by M.K. Lobb February 7th I've had this book on my radar ever since one of my all time favourite authors Allison Saft recommended it! It sounds super exciting, it has a rebellion, childhood sweethearts turned enemies and murder. Which you guys know is right up my alley. I am so excited to have an ARC of this book that I'm planning on diving into once I finish my current read! NerdCrush by Alisha Emrich February 7th I've been looking for more books featuring cosplay so I knew I had to pick this up, plus the cover looks adorable! When Ramona cosplays as her original character, Rel, she has a newfound confidence (which is helping her escape her troubles in real life). But things get a bit out of hand when Ramona emails her crush from her cosplay account and she ends up falling even harder. The only problem is now her crush is talking to her in real life too and she doesn't know how to break it to him that she's Rel. With a big cosplay convention coming up and this big secret on her shoulders, Ramona has to decide what to do. I can't wait to see how cosplay plays a role in Ramona's life, and see what she chooses! The Severed Thread by Leslie Vedder February 7th Last year I had so much fun reading The Bone Spindle, and the cliffhanger left me really intrigued. Now the sequel is here and I can't wait to see what happens to Shane, Fi , and Briar! I'm looking forward to action, adventure, mystery, and of course treasure hunting! Check out my review of The Bone Spindle while you're waiting for this exciting story to release! Stardust in Their Veins by Laura Sebastian February 7th Next we have another sequel! I enjoyed reading Castles in Their Bones, the first book in this series. (Check out my review if you haven't read it yet!) The last book left us off on a bit of a cliffhanger and without giving too much away I'm very interested in seeing how some of the main characters react. I'm looking forward to the political intrigue and hints of magic! This Time It's Real by Ann Liang February 7th As you guys know, If You Could See the Sun by Ann Liang was one of my top 10 reads of 2022. Now Ann is back with another YA story which sounds adorable! I've been seeing the snippets Ann has been posting online and let me tell you I'm dying to get my hands on this one! It eveen features one of my favourite tropes, fake dating! After Eliza's essay about meeting the love of her life goes viral, she's suddenly landed an internship opportunity at her favourite magazine, not to mention the approval of her classmates. The problem is, she made the essay up and to hide the truth she makes a deal with Cas, her famous actor classmate, who pretends to be her boyfriend in exchange for her helping him write his college applications. I mean what could go wrong? I can't wait to find out! Out of Character by Jenna Miller February 7th Another book featuring geek culture! Cass is obsessed with the Tide Wars books and in her spare time she writes scenes as Captain Aresha and posts them online. But with the stress of dating cool girl Taylor, and her mother walking out on her, Cass starts to retreat further and further into her online roleplaying life. Plus she's even starting to catch feelings for her internet bestie Rowan. I'm excited to see how Cass figures everything out! When You Wish Upon a Lantern by Gloria Chao February 14th First off can we take a moment to appreciate this stunning cover? It immediately reminds me of the lantern scene from Rapunzel (one of my favourite Disney scenes). I have a couple of Gloria's other works on my tbr and I've heard great things about them. This romance is about ex best friends Liya and Kai who are coming together to save Liya's family's wishing lantern store. The two go on covert missions to grant the wishes of the customers, but with their feuding families will they be torn apart again? This book sounds like a dream come true! Last Chance Dance by Lakita Wilson February 21st This YA romance sounds really unique! After her boyfriend breaks up with her right before graduation, Leila decides to participate in the Last Chance Dance, a tradition at her school where all you have to do is send in 3 unrequited crushes of hers and see if they match up. To her surprise, Leila is matched with all three of her choices, but also Tre Hillman (her chemistry partner/nemesis). Now she's going on dates all while Tre is determined to convince her they're right for each other. I've never read anything like this before so I'm excited to see how it goes! The Wicked Bargain by Gabe Cole Novoa February 28th The last book I'm talking about today is a pirate book!! You guys know how much I love pirate stories and I'm always on the look out for a new one! The Wicked Bargain follows Mar, a transmasculine nonbinary teen pirate who is hiding their ability to manipulate fire and ice. And things get even worse when el Diablo comes to collect the soul of Mar's father and the crew to settle a payment for a bargain their father made. Amazingly Mar escapes, and is rescued by another pirate crew, but now el Diablo is giving them the choice to give up their soul to save their father or never see him again. Mar refuses to make this choice and enlists the help of Bas, the Captain's son, and Dami, a genderfluid demonio (who's motives aren't always clear). I mean how can you not add this book to your tbr? It sounds awesome! Those are my anticipated releases for February 2023 bookworms! I hope you are as excited for these releases as I am! What are some of your most anticipated February releases? Are any of these books on your tbr? Let me know in the comments below!
