Hello and welcome to a very special day bookworms! Today is the official release day of Catalyst by Willow Anderson! Catalyst is the sequel of Pandemonium, which released in May of this year and was our first introduction to a world of magic, mystery and danger (Check out my review here!). In honour of the new release today, I am hosting a Q&A with Willow here on my blog! I am so excited, so let's get started! Make sure to check out the purchase links and author information below! What is your favourite childhood book? I absolutely love Where the Red Fern Grows. It will always and forever be one of the books I recommend. I think I’ve read it twenty times and plan to read it twenty more times. How long have you been writing, and what inspired you to pursue it? I began writing short stories in junior high (middle school) and bumped up to my first attempt at a novel when I was 19. I did not finish the book, but I’m happy that I at least tried. Writing was an escape for me, just as reading was—and still is. I loved getting lost in the world an author created, and thought, ‘I could do that!’ I wrote my first full-length novel at 24 years old. Where did you find your inspiration to create the whimsical world of Pandemonium? When I was a kid I was obsessed with magicians and circuses. They were all the rage for me. I loved the aspect of magic and the idea of the impossible becoming possible. When I sat down to write the series I wanted to publish, I knew I wanted to follow my childhood love of magic/magicians/circuses. What character in the Pandemonium series are you most like? When I was younger I was more like Alice, but as I grew up, I relate more to Victoria. If you were part of Pandemonium's show what would your act be? I would 100% be a fire eater. There’s something romantic and mysterious about it to me. What can fans of Pandemonium expect from Catalyst? There will definitely be more danger, more betrayal, more deception, and more magic. Catalyst is a little heavier than Pandemonium, but I think readers will enjoy the depth in the storyline. What is next for the characters of Pandemonium? Will there be more books after Catalyst? The Pandemonium series will be four books and a novella by the time it’s completed. I have thought of potentially writing a spin-off, but I’m not sure yet. In this current series, we will get more in-depth looks at each of the major characters. We will get to see their inner thoughts, fears, desires, and unfortunately, a little bit of devastation with each one. In the end, I think the betrayal and deception in the journey will be worth it to each of my characters, and the readers. Author Information
