It's Wednesday bookworms! Today I'm coming to you with a review of Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake. I buddy read this with Rose of @booksofmagicandmystery be sure to check her out! She has awesome photos and is an even more amazing person to talk to! This review is spoiler free so don't worry if you haven't read it yet! I am beyond excited to talk about this book so let's get started! Three Dark Crowns is a YA fantasy novel set on an island called Fennbirn, where a set of triplets are born each generation. Three queens with their own magical abilities and right to the throne. Mirabella is a strong elementalist who can control the wind, water, fire and more on a whim. Katharine is a poisoner who can ingest deadly poisons and create even more dangerous ones. And finally Arsinoe, a naturalist who can grow plants and call to the wild's most fiercest creatures. Each sister must fight for the throne and kill her sisters to gain the crown. I honestly don't even know where to begin with how much I loved this book. The writing style was powerful and enticing with each page. Each chapter ended with you wanting more, which definitely made it hard for me to put down. The plot and storyline was captivating and creative. The multi-perspectives and characters were fully fleshed out and left you rooting for your favourites. I would have to say that my favourite characters were Jules and Katharine, but don't get me wrong, all of the characters had their own loveable or sometimes very horrible traits you grow to love. They all progressed and had a large amount of development, which is something I love to see. This book made me feel so many emotions. While the overall plot is very dark, and at some points this book is very grim, I found myself laughing, smiling and shocked all at once. In my opinion, when a book can make you feel such a variety of emotions, it deserves all the praise in the world. The plot twists had my jaw dropping and at some points I was freaking out so much I got weird looks from those around me 😂. The ending left me craving more and I am incredibly excited to see what's in store for these characters in the coming books. I am also so thankful that there is many more books for Rose and I to enjoy together. The only regret I have is that I didn't read this sooner! Although now I can binge read the series, so I consider that a win. I wouldn't change a thing about this book and it has fastly become a new all time favourite of mine. Looking for a fast paced, action filled book with amazing characters? This is definitely the book for you! Three Dark Crowns is a new favourite that I know I'll be recommending time and time again. With that said, I'm sure it's no surprise that I gave this book a 5/5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. That's a wrap on my review of Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake. I hope you enjoyed it! Have you read this book?
