Hello and welcome to another blog tour bookworms! This tour is all about The Honeys by Ryan La Sala. I'd like to first thank Turn the Page Tours for choosing me to be a part of this book tour! Here is the schedule for the rest of the tour if you would like to follow the other stops! As part of this tour I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Synopsis From Ryan La Sala, the wildly popular author of Reverie, comes a twisted and tantalizing horror novel set amidst the bucolic splendor of a secluded summer retreat. Mars has always been the lesser twin, the shadow to his sister Caroline's radiance, But when Caroline dies under horrific circumstances, Mars is propelled to learn all he can about his once inseparable sister who'd grown tragically distant. Mars's gender fluidity means he's often excluded from the traditions -- and expectations -- of his politically connected family. This includes attendance at the prestigious Aspen Conservancy Summer Academy where his sister poured so much of her time. But with his grief still fresh, he insists on attending in her place. What Mars finds is a bucolic fairytale not meant for him. Folksy charm and sun-drenched festivities camouflage old-fashioned gender roles and a toxic preparatory rigor. Mars seeks out his sister's old friends: a group of girls dubbed the Honeys, named for the beehives they maintain behind their cabin. They are beautiful and terrifying -- and Mars is certain they're connected to Caroline's death. But the longer he stays at Aspen, the more the sweet mountain breezes give way to hints of decay. Mars's memories begin to falter, bleached beneath the relentless summer sun. Something is hunting him in broad daylight, toying with his mind. If Mars can't find it soon, it will eat him alive. Violence, death, blood, kidnapping, corpses, sexual harassment, death of a sibling, murder, insects, blackmail, bullying, grief, homophobia, cancer, gore My Review When I heard that this book was described as the Heathers meets Midsommar, I was very intrigued. The writing overall was very easy to follow and made for a speedy read. The first chapter definitely grabbed my attention and I was eager to learn more about Mars and Caroline. I'd have to say that Mars was my favourite character. They went through a lot of personal growth in this book and I liked the gradual progression of it. I really liked learning about their relationship with Caroline and through that, getting to look into their childhoods. While I liked Mars, Caroline, and Wyatt, I found myself wanting to learn more about the side characters like Bria. I think that would have helped me build a more emotional attachment to the story. The plot was intriguing and I loved piecing together the mystery with Mars. This book does have some magical/mystical elements which were a fun twist. Unfortunately, I felt myself getting lost when these came into play. By the end I was able to get an overall gist of what was going on but would have liked for it to be explained in more detail. The ending was a big surprise to me. I definitely did not see the ending plot twists coming. I thought the end was satisfying in a way but it also left me interested in learning more. Overall an interesting read. I gave this book 3.5/5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨. Mood Board Author Information

So when she grabs the attention of the beautiful, charismatic Diane, she falls right under her spell, and may accidentally promise to murder Diane's predatory step-brother Javier, in exchange for Diane murdering Yasmin. But that was just a joke... right? Wrong. When Yasmin turns up dead, Diane comes calling, attempting to blackmail Neve into murdering Javier. Stalling for time, Neve pretends to go along with Diane's plan until she can find a way out that doesn't involve homicide.
