Hello and welcome to another blog tour bookworms! This tour is all about The Cup and the Prince by Day Leitao. I'd like to first thank Favourite Pages Book Club for choosing me to be a part of this book tour! Here is the schedule for the rest of the tour if you would like to follow the other stops! There is also a giveaway running for a $15 Amazon gift card where you can enter here! I would like to mention that I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review as part of this book tour. Synopsis One prince wants her out. Another wants her as a pawn. Someone wants her dead. Zora wants to win the cup and tell them all to screw themselves. Yes, 17-year-old Zora cheated her way into the Royal Games, but it was for a very good reason. Her ex-boyfriend thought she couldn't attain glory on her own. Just because she was a girl. And he was the real cheater. So she took his place. Now she's competing for the legendary Blood Cup, representing the Dark Valley. It's her chance to prove her worth and bring glory for her people. If she wins, of course. But winning is far from easy. The younger prince thinks she's a fragile damsel who doesn't belong in the competition. Determined to eliminate her at all costs, he's stacking the challenges against her. Zora hates him, hates him, hates him, and will do anything to prove him wrong. The older prince is helping her, but the cost is getting Zora entangled in dangerous flirting games. Flirting, the last thing she wanted. And then there's someone trying to kill her. Release Date: October 15th, 2020 Page Count: 256 pages My Review I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book! The Cup and the Prince is told in a dual perspective format, showcasing the voices of Zora and and Prince Griffin. The writing was fun and easy to follow, what I enjoyed was that it was more of a low fantasy, where I didn't have to remember a lot of magical rules or places. Seeing both sides of the story through Zora and Griffin's eyes added an extra layer of depth to the story. I felt that all of the characters had their own distinct personalities and I had fun learning about each of them. Even the side characters were interesting to learn about! We were thrust into the story immediately and were gradually acclimated to the settings, which I enjoyed as there wasn't any info dumping which can get dry. I also enjoyed the title chapters, I've found that it's an element I really enjoy in books. I really liked the humor in this book as well! Zora has been through a lot and it fuels her anger and strong feminist attitude. Being the only female competitor in the competition, she had to prove herself even more than her opponents. I loved the inventiveness of Zora and her creativeness when it came to the challenges. Griffin was also a really interesting character! Seeing his thought process and the secrets he kept added some dramatic irony to the plot. The romance was very cute and slow burning. We also had a mysterious subplot that was an underlying constant which never left a dull moment. Did I also mention that Zora's pink glowing sword is named Butterfly? I wish that the book was a bit longer so that we could get to know the characters more. I also wish that we knew more of the side characters and their personalities more. The ending left me wanting more! The author even apologized for the ending in the author's note because I need to find out what happens! I recommend this book to anyone looking for a good low fantasy story that is definitely binge worthy! I gave this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 Stars. Mood Board Favourite Quotes Author Information
