Hi bookworms and welcome to my blog tour stop for As Good As Dead by Holly Jackson! I'd like to first thank TBR and Beyond Tours for choosing me to be a part of this book tour! Here is the schedule for the rest of the tour if you would like to follow the other stops! As part of this tour I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Synopsis The highly anticipated, edge-of-your-seat conclusion to the addictive A Good Girl’s Guide toMurder series that reads like your favourite true crime podcast or show. By the end, you’ll never think the same of good girls again. Pip’s good girl days are long behind her. After solving two murder cases and garnering internet fame from her crime podcast, she’s seen a lot. But she’s still blindsided when it starts to feel like someone is watching her. It’s small things at first.A USB stick with footage recording her and the same anonymous source always asking her: who will look for you when you’re the one who disappears? It could be a harmless fan, but her gut is telling her danger is lurking. When Pip starts to find connections between her possible stalker and a local serial killer, Pip knows that there is only one choice: find the person threatening her town including herself–or be as good as dead. Because maybe someone has been watching her all along... Release Date: September 28, 2021 Genre: Young Adult Mystery Thriller My Review Content warnings
Death, animal death, drug use, sexual assault (not on page), PTSD, anxiety, stalking, blood, murder, gore, violence, kidnapping, drugging A Good Girl's Guide to Murder is definitely one of my top ten reads of 2021 so far. So I was super excited to see how this trilogy ended. What I loved most about the previous two books was the characters and the thrilling plot twists. I have to say that As Good As Dead really ventures away from the tone and mood of the first books in the series. It got a lot more darker and a lot more creepy, that said I'd definitely check out the content warnings I've put together above to make sure this book is right for you. I love mysteries and thrillers, they're one of my favourite genres to read and many of them have dark themes and content. Unfortunately this book made me really uncomfortable at times and became quite disturbing as time went on. The writing was descriptive and conveyed Pip's emotions really well. It immersed me in the story right from the first chapter. Pip quickly became one of my favourite characters ever after reading A Good Girl's Guide to Murder. I related to her so much and admired her. I also loved Ravi! However in As Good As Dead I felt that both Pip and Ravi acted very strangely and completely out of character. It was sort of disheartening to see how much they veered away from the characters I grew to love so much. This book is also packed with plot twists coming at every turn. I have to say that I didn't see them coming and they were very surprising. The ending left me unsatisfied but I can understand why the author chose it. Ultimately this book was a filled with many plot twists but was very different from the previous books before it. I gave this book 3/5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️. Mood Board Author Information
